Get Hands On With the Coe

The Coe Center & First American Art Magazine

Get Hands-On with the Coe!, co-presented by First American Art Magazine, is an interactive art celebration to intimately understand the dynamic partnerships of, and the significant collection at, the Coe Center. Nani Chacon, Diné and Chicana Painter, will unveil a recently completed mural on the Coe’s new project building, inspired by the Coe Center’s Indigenous art collection.  Will Wilson, Diné photographer, will engage his interactive photographic project, CIPX: Critical Indigenous Photographic Exchange. The Coe’s curator, Bess Murphy, will have a variety of small art projects for event-goers to engage with, including the opportunity to participate in mural making. Tlingit artist and DJ Celeste Worl will spin records, and the Lightning Boy Foundation Youth Group Hoop Dancers will perform. Highlights of the Coe’s art collection will be projected within the project building for participants to enjoy. First American Art Magazine will launch and distribute their highly anticipated summer issue at the event.  https://www.coeartscenter.org/get-hands-on-with-the-coe-on-august-19-6-8-pm/
